Values Need To Be Behaviorally Defined

Values are more than words—they’re actions. They need to be behaviorally defined so you and your kids know how to demonstrate and practice them. Otherwise, the value remains a noble-sounding concept with no real-world application.

Have a family meeting and discuss the behaviors the demonstrate your values. Help your kids see that maturity involves behaving in accordance with their life-guiding values.

Writing down your values solidifies their presence in your life. The more visible your values are, the more you are reminded of their importance.
